So my bird’s stuck in the hangar for 5 months waiting on some fuel cells, and I’m thinking, can I put my insurance on hold during that downtime? Doesn’t make sense to keep paying full coverage when it’s just sitting in the hangar. Anyone been through this? Any risks I should watch out for before making this move?

I decided to replace my windshield. I also need to replace one side window due to cracks, one of the cylinder baffles, as well as elevator trim cables. Since I will be out of town for the next month, and it is too cold to work in the hangar anyway, I was able to change my policy to "Ground Not In Motion", and save a couple hundred bucks. Ask your insurance people. They should be glad to help you out. My insurance folks use U.S. Specialty if that helps any.
