Using Solar Panel to Charge Aircraft Battery

I’m planning of hooking up a small solar panel to keep my aircraft battery juiced up while I’m out camping. Thinking it might be cool to connect it straight to the aircraft’s lighter and use a multimeter to see if it’s actually charging the battery.

Anyone tried this before? or got any tips on better ways to connect a solar panel to an aircraft battery?

Just make sure the charger puts out between 13.8 and 14.5 volts. The higher end of the voltage range will charge faster. I use a solar charger on my driveway gate battery and it works well.
