C-172RG Gear Safe Light Delay

Thinking about getting a used Cessna 172RG, but noticed something strange during the test flight. When I went to drop the gear, the green safe light took long to illuminate, around 25-30 seconds! I could see the gear down on both sides, but that wait had me sweating a bit. Is that a thing, or should I be worried about the gear?
Anyone know what the normal response time should be?

This is a common problem. It's usually a switch on the landing gear that's broken or dirty. Check them and clean them with parts cleaner or WD40. If that doesn't fix it, maybe it's time to replace them.
