Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a very low-time 1972 Cessna 340 with a RAM Series IV conversion. However, after reviewing the aircraft, I suspect that the air intake modifications recommended or included in the RAM Series IV STC were not complied with during the conversion.
I’ve also noticed that some Cessna 340 models from the same year, as well as later models, seem to have much larger air intakes. These larger scoops could likely help with the high temperatures I’m experiencing during climb-out.
I’m trying to determine:
Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m trying to determine:
- Were larger air intakes part of the RAM Series IV conversion requirements?
- Are the air intakes on later 340 or 340A models interchangeable with my 1972 model?
- Has anyone else experienced and resolved high engine temperatures during climb-out with similar configurations?
Thanks in advance for your help!
