We have found a nice C-340A that we are ready to close… however!
Insurance says
They do not like planes older than 1980
They do not like pilots over 70
They do not like C-340

Yep - as much as the FAA, insurance companies dictate general aviation.

I was recently in the market for a 310, but the insurance company shut that idea down pretty quick.

You could always fly with liability only. Or like many people in my area, fly with no insurance at all.

What this translates as "We insurance companies no longer like a risk of any kind" we just want to make lotsa green!!

Went through that when searching for a 206. Three times the premium of a similar hull value 182. The increase in number of insured passenger seats doesn’t come anywhere near explaining it.

Same boat on 206; paid $1900 for $140K on highly backcountry modded 56 182. Probably looking at $6K for $300K 206 even with 2000 hrs in 210s.

BTW, looking for clean T206G- cash deal.
