Sharing Cessna ownership

I've been doing my research on how to possibly get into a plane and have heard of shared ownership. Have any of you done that? Sounds as if it works a bit like a condo in Florida timeshare. Is this correct?

And what would be the most popular Cessna model that a single person getting into flying should consider?
