I was remembering some of the things my instructor use to do. He loved to often opening his door some while I was taking off, or just flying around.
And killing the power while flying and telling me to find a place to land. Fortunately the land East of Denver was not very populated at that time so that was not too bad. It's rather nice when you're gliding.
One day while flying over Limon my door opened and the wind kept it almost closed. Dan had me put the plane in a crab to take the air off the door, reached behind me and pulled the door shut. The nice thing was, the door being opened some didn't bother me as he had opened his door so often it was 'normal'.
